Aqua Safe / Aqua Aire are aerobic septic system product lines manufactured by Ecological Tanks, Inc.. They are widely used residential wastewater treatment systems, particularly in the southern United States.

Both systems are aerobic treatment units (ATUs) that use an extended aeration activated sludge process, meaning air is continuously introduced into wastewater to promote the growth of oxygen-dependent bacteria that break down organic waste.

• Aqua Safe systems are typically round tanks (fiberglass or concrete) with an aeration chamber surrounding a central clarifier. They are designed for residential and light commercial use and can produce clear, odorless effluent within about 24 hours.
• Aqua Aire systems are generally rectangular concrete tanks with separate aeration and clarification compartments, operating similarly to a small-scale municipal treatment plant.

Both product lines are NSF-certified Class 1 treatment systems, meaning they meet high standards for wastewater quality, and they can discharge treated water through spray irrigation, drip systems, or drain fields depending on local regulations.

In short, Aqua Safe and Aqua Aire are closely related aerobic septic systems that use the same biological treatment principles but differ mainly in tank design, configuration, and installation style.

These systems are compatible with most linear style air pumps (Hiblow & FujiMAC) and typically have a 1/2HP bottom or mid suction pump.
