Control panels are the central hub for aerobic septic systems, safely connecting electrical components to power while fully managing system operation and maintenance.
They serve two core purposes:
- Provide a weatherproof enclosure to protect electrical circuits.
- Organize and control the effluent pump and air compressor.
On-demand panels activate the pump only when needed, using a float switch. Timer-based panels use either:
- Clock timers (e.g., Grasslin) that restrict pumping to specific 15-minute intervals daily.
- Dosing timers that cycle the pump on/off for set durations regardless of time of day.
Timer panels include an override float switch to activate the pump during heavy use, preventing backups. Alarms are triggered by a high-water float switch or a pressure switch connected to the air compressor via a small hose, alerting when air pressure drops too low.
Typical connections:
- On-demand: pump, on/off float, air compressor, high-water alarm float, low-pressure switch.
- Timer panels: add an override float for emergency pumping.
These panels ensure reliable, automated operation with critical safety alerts.
